Sad news Sad Day BF3

Battlefield 3 beta is over but not forgotten.

For all the faults battlefield 3 beta had I still enjoyed playing Bf as much as all the other Battlefield children i have played with (PHRASING KRIS). I really do not like the whole battlelog being forced down my throat but i am glad they did otherwise I would never use it and after getting used to it I really enjoyed it as it gave a lot of additional content to the game as well as more customisation for clans aka platoons. My favourite moment in the entire beta was when I joined a game and I had a bug where I had no hud including spawn window so I had to guess where the buttons were but it immersed me into the game so much more than with the hud. If you get the time please play hardcore mode in any of your fps game where they remove the hud and improve the damage of bullets.

So throughout all this I am extremely glad they had this beta as it made me want bf 3 all the more and it prepared us for battle log which I enjoyed in the end. You will be missed BF 3 beta or B3B buy 3 babies(PHRASING KRIS) till next time.

Beta battlefield! 103

Exciting news everyone Caspian boarder is available for all to play it has gets it has tanks and it has Jeeps and best of all it has bugs! First off this guy here sums up a lot of the battlefield experience http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HtAPvFOlpA some of the greatest bugs from people who are not there but their ghost is left behind. Biggest changes to the game are guns feel like guns support class is back and give ammo again unlike assault giving ammo, assault is now medic class, sniper is still sniper, engineer is still wacky tie guy. In the beta their are two MAPS!! as of today one 32 player rush Operation Metro 2033 I mean just Operation Metro other 32-64 conquest Caspian boarder. Fans of the series will probably hate how the planes work I love them took me about two fail attempts at flying to consider myself a pro a flying a jet only problem I had was aiming but I am sure I do not need that when i can do BARREL ROLLS!. I have not gotten my hands on a helicopter or a tank yet but I am sure they will handle same way they did in bad company 2 the Jeeps on the other hand do not they are fast stronger better than they were before  and the handling was amazing so much fun weaving through open warfare dodging rockets gunfire and doing MASSIVE jumps. More or less this game handles exactly how battlefield 2 did and they are not pulling any punches I know of a few friends who have to get new computers just to play this game because the graphics are that much of a step up so before you buy it try out the beta and make sure you can run it otherwise you might be just wasting your money.

Biggest downfall of the 64 player servers are that if they are not capable of holding 64 players there is a lot of lag the server that I played on had this it was frustrating being warped back and forward 2 feet every second but when it was not lagging was so much fun. I am glad I got my pre-order i recommend you doing the same as most of the bugs in the beta are just that beta bugs they should be gone by time game gets released including nurfs to some of the more powerful weapon cough ump 45 shotgun and support with headshot hacks please report those guys. When my game of Rage arrives some time this week or next week I will review that game till then chew slowly as slices of kris may contain ear rings.

Beta battlefield! 102

Continuing from my last post about battlefields history http://sliceofkris.blogspot.com/2011/10/beta-battlefield-101.html in case you have not read it yet last time i talked about the battlefield series's humble beginning and it grand gameplay this week i will be talking about the rise and the fall of the series.

Following the natural progression they decide to make a futuristic shooter battlefield 2142 which never took off as well as battlefield 2, not to say it was a bad game to the contrary it was a great game just was not what we really wanted in our battlefield experience at the time. Luckily they turned the series around with the somewhat CoD inspired game Battlefield Bad Company which boasted unique destruction system as well as battlefield's first single player game. This is a CoD inspired game as they removed a lot of the vehicles from the game making it more infantry fighting on a modern battlefield does sound like Call of Duty modern warfare a little bit. As you guessed this did not beat CoD in sales or storyline but was an interesting step for DICE and was a needed step as it inspired them continue down the road with some more bankroll behind them I should say this game did sell better than battlefield 2142. I regretful to say i honestly feel bad that I have to tell you this but in 2009 to continue with they whole LET BE COD bandwagon they brought out two horrible games (yes I am bais against CoD)battlefield 1943 a spirtal successor to 1942 and battlefield heroes to capture the F2P market I have not play either of these game as they both did not seem well polished so I cannot truly say they are bad but they did not sell enough copys.

Drawing up too 2010 game Battlefield Bad Company 2 which did bring back large battlefields and air combat only helicopters but some air is better than none at all unlike battlefield 2 these helicopters are very easy to fly so that the consoles could fly them as well. For the first time since battlefield 2142 an expansion for the series was released which allowed they player to play some Vietnam maps with all new weapons vehicles and boats. I personally loved the expansion much more than the original game because of the new colour tint just made everything POP! most of all I enjoyed the guns with the downgrade from the fancy ones in the original game was a nice step back and brought the experience to great level. Needless to say DICE is finally back in their comfit zone and the fans agree are wanting more lets hope they do not pull any punches with Battlefield 3 due to release 2011 October 27th the beta is free for all right now just create an origin account download the beta and enjoy.

Beta battlefield! 101

Here I was wondering what I should make my next post about then it hit me today when I was playing battlefield 3 beta I could should do shit about my Battlefield experiences including videos of bugs I have seen and bug I have experienced first hand. First quick history of battlefield in case you have been living under a rock for the past 15 years this game is an imitation war zone game made for large groups of people to experience war from safety of their homes developed by DICE their first game battlefield 1942 was about WW2 of course which started this games great success with tanks, helicopters, jets and infantry battles each used to gain control points so they can win the map. Reasons why this was success was because the game was so well made and the visuals fully immersed you into the game as well giving fantastic multilayer which was mostly an untapped market at the time of release which lead to a lot of games being played predominately at LAN's. DICE had attempted a game before this though called codename eagle which had the groundwork and experimentation needed for battlefield 1942.

After a year DICE released Battlefeild Vietnam which brought about more realistic moving jets and helicopters and has always been a favoured game even during early battlefield 2 years but what made battlefield 2 a grand success was the kit system where you gained new items by playing the game to give you an edge in the battlefield this is made people want to keep playing for a lot longer than 1942 and Vietnam just to get every weapon and skill it also introduced squad systems where you could join a squad to talk and move as a team without having to hear the entire teams voice as well. Last thing that Battlefield 2 introduced was Generals who commanded squads on where they should focus their attack ultimately not the greatest idea as people tended to pick the general just so they could gain the extra point for doing so. With success gained from battlefield 2 they released 4 expansions (things company's used back then instead of dlc today)each with new items and maps and some with new vehicles.

Diablo 1 part 2

In the depths of hell only the screams of pain can be heard as i look around my surrounding i can only see bones bodies and blood, the ringing of cheers of support from above cannot be heard I am alone the isolation is suffocation. Shadows of the fallen walk past me as I slowly stumble through the empty halls every now and then i see my reflection in the pools of blood from the demons the haunt my dreams the man who stares back is not me but instead a twisted demented person who shares my body. I am lost... maybe once I have slain the demon, the lord the terror, Diablo I can finally get some rest from this non-stop nightmare.

How was that to start a review pretty impressive right, now hell in Diablo is split up into two parts the just under the crust of the earth with magma flowing from the walls and spurting from the ground then the rivers of blood and burning walls. The layout has not changed much since start of the game just a few floors of slightly change colour  usually getting darker so that you feel your going deeper I must of spent over 10 000 gold on potions as I could not use doorways to verse the monsters one at time as there were none any more. Remember that mage I told you not to disturb i learnt how to kill him you just trap him in a corner and as he cannot warp unless your further away from one side so he just starts teleporting on the spot this is important as you end up fighting a bunch of weaker mages with same spells by far my most hated enemy in the game. Spoiler time the final two bosses the corrupted archbishop who took a bunch boys and did things to them *cough catholic paedophile priests* he is one of these mages. An important thing to note with these mages they do not chase you so if you have other enemies to fight as well as them you can lure them away from the mages so you do not get bombarded by spells as you kill them.

The final boss Diablo well i am not going to lie I hated this fight as it is an entire room full of the mages you cannot know how annoying this was to deal with as a melee character, quick hint clear an area so that there are no mages then lure Diablo there with candy and kill him. Diablo himself is not nearly as hard as the mages once you beat him you get a nice cut scene with hints of Diablo 2 i might dig this game out and play it as well.

The beast is slain i am triumphant in the forehead of the beast there is a crimson gem as red as blood it calls out to me this must be the soulstone that order of horadrim made to imprison the lord of terror. I bend over the beast my heart pounding I slowly take my knife out and remove the soulstone from the beast, the body starts contracting and bending as it reverts to the form of the young prince. After the body stops moving all is left is a lifeless body like all the ones all around me I return my gaze to the soulstone in my hand it appears to be beating like a heart and it is calling out to demons I can hear them coming. Suddenly a high pitch sound can be heard it is so loud yet the words behind it are clear "go east", it is the lord of terror inside of the soulstone  it is calling out to me. Uncontrollably i shove the soulstone into my forehead silence returns to the room as blood traces down my head, I take my leave of this accursed place and return to town. There are loud celebrations going on  yet they seem to not be unable to see the soulstone in my head. East I must go east... my brothers are waiting... my brothers no his brothers. Help is there for me and for him, east I must go east! I hear there are some good slices of kris there... THE END

Classic reviews Diablo 1 part 1

With Diablo 3 beta being out and me not having as i am too lasy to sign up for a battle net account and apparantly my half a billion warcraft 3 battlenet accounts do not count so i decided to find my old copy of Diablo 1 as never beat is as a 8 year old playing it 30 minuets at a time. You cannot get it on www.gog.com yet but i am sure if you send enough emails to them they might get copys of it and if your like me and could not find your old cd of it you can always find a torrent of it which most certainly did not do i found my cd of it *cough*.

I remember this game being a lot harder than it was but that is the same with all games from you childhood you replay you find out how easy it is but in some unfortunate cases (most n64 game) the controls are horrible and they are even harder than when you played it as a kid. Biggest thing I remember from when I was a kid was the butcher which is the first boss and how it was an epic fight of swords, shields, magic and heaps and heaps of potions; but instead i used maybe 1 full potion which I may not of even needed to use! I also remember that one in every two restarts of the game you could get the poisoned well, that allowed you to go to an extra area. There may also be some other things like this in lower levels so you could get some re-playability out of the game back then if you did beat the game or like me was too noob to get past level 5-10 so you restarted the game with a new character.

After about 1 hour of playing I was up to my dreaded stretch of level 5-10 this was where the history of Diablo is told though some books with the main character doing the voice over he talks about the 'sin war' and the 'Horadrim mages', if you want to learn about these more before you play Diablo 3 you should there is a Diablo wiki out there so you can catch up on what happened and also about the history. On my last level of the the 5-10 levels of Diablo I came across this mage who did not want to be disturbed so I instinctively save my games and disturbed him and got in a big fight DO NOT DISTURB him he spanks your ass good he can teleport whenever you get close to him and has long ranged spells i probably could of beaten him if I had more potions and if I bothered to dodge his spell but when you pick the warrior there is nothing more fun than running straight.

Now I am getting closer to the core of Earth and for the rest of this review you will have to wait till the next slice of kris also with extra kris sauce.

Dead Island ACT 3

I know it has been a long time since the last part of this review as it has taken me ages to play it because of  work friends and general time wasting on other games. Developments from last time story has gotten a lot more stupid starting off with the big one cannibalism of dead zombies by random tribes men who buy slaves and sell slaves yes this pisses me off a lot as i can never agree with slavery and cannibalism. New enemies are butchers and convicts as you end up in a prison; butchers are zombie that regenerate health if you do not kill them fast enough you can get an achievement if you kill it with an axe which is easy enough to do convicts are just humans in orange jumpsuits so easy enough again.

You can do side missions in co-op you just have to not start doing the main quest so you can do side missions this mad co-op longer and slightly more fun, but this game is starting to draw towards it's conclusion  with all the main character falling into place I am hoping it will be a nice and huge ending and not be like borderlands where it just fizzles out.

There may be better sources for reviews but they do not have this word Slice of Kris wait that is a phrase my bad well it will have to do.
