Uncharted 3 Drakes Deception

This is the third game in the Naughty Dog series Uncharted and it may be the last not because it is a bad series but because it has run it's course in things to do. Uncharted 1 you versed pirates, Uncharted 2 you versed mercenary's and Uncharted 3 you verse the entire English secret service which means if they do make a forth game it will have to be drake verse the entire world.

New Features
Unlike the previous uncharted game they wanted to make the fighting more cinematic from picking up near by items to hit people with them and gave the enemies more health so that they seem more on par with Nate when you fist fight. The location changes a lot more than I would like so you never really feel in twined with the environment your about to fight in just so they could explode it sink it chase you out with pissed off giant spiders. Last new thing is no new supporting cast member ohh wait there is Charlie but they just expect you to ignore the fact that they do not introduce this character or anything about his past like they did with Nate's previous partners in crime. Now on with the review and I can tell you what a actually think about this game.

Story
Drakes Deception's plot revolves around Drakes past and all his relationships sort of deteriorating over his obsession on trying to find the treasure not caring for his own safety which puts his friends in danger and we repeat this phrase "why do you care". It starts with explaining that Nate's necklace with the ring on it is one half of some decoder to some super weapon just because it always has to be some super world ending weapon this then leads him to a really old house in France and a old castle in Norway or some place as all random castle look the same gray and lots of water. This then leads to a sick Drug trip in Arabia best scene in the game yardi yardi yarda plane a plane blows up and you end up in the desert fighting with secret tribesmen then obligatory overlord boss fight at the end. None of this story holds together though because unlike the previous games there are way to many location changes so you never get to explore an area without enemies then come back later in the dark and their are enemies everywhere or enemies everywhere when you first come there and no enemies when you come back for the clue you did not know was there at the time.

Gameplay
There is a lot more stealth combat ohh and that whole new Features raps this section up but still same cover based shooting regenerative health as this Uncharted is famous for. Oh fine I will also say unlike my least favourite game series Assasscreed(Assassin's Creed) the parkour is fantastic and realistic in most cases with the random jump that seems stupid, but also leads me to one of my most hated things the scripted climbing materials breaking behind Nate he even points this out at the very beginning "this pipe should hold my weight" come on guys we know your going to make bend or break try surprising us with it not breaking for once. The stealth scenes and gun fights are so much longer and more annoying with the bad choice of either stealth kill ten guys who will see you or fight thirty guys armed to the teeth every time a stealth section comes I cringe. Their are some great new puzzles involving the best lighting I have seen in a game to date and made me have to think for a little bit over just solving it by accident on first try my favourite one being having to line up the pieces to form a shadow man on the wall.

Graphics
As much as I did not like the location changing every thirty seconds they did a fantastic job creating these set pieces then exploding them I mean it is just like Minecraft and we all love minecraft or at least used to by that I mean making huge structures then blowing them up with TnT cause that is just how we roll. (I just noticed in the last sentence I was writing with sort and an announcers voice in my head my bad back to normality.) Every in-game graphic cut scene was done with motion capture suits this includes those mini cinematic fights that I hate so much as I am gray-scaled screen and want to get back to my safe safe cover. The environment effects are decently animated from storms meaning SAND STORMS also as I have stated above in gameplay the lighting in this game is fantastic giving it a very cinematic experience which is what this game is all about from camera angles to acting and story like most people have compared this game to a summer blockbuster by Michael Bay which is a very accurate description.

Conclusion
In the end Uncharted 3 is a great end to the series but I much preferred the pacing in the first Uncharted game, I expect big things from the new game series coming out by naughty dog also I am alive comes out very soon it is an intense survival parkour gritty post apocalyptic game I defiantly recommend this game on your to buy list this season. Going to be doing a part review with Heroes VI Might & Magic because the Campaign is so long not because the story is long just each map takes about three hours beat. Until next time Slice of Kris out cya guys.

The Binding of Isaac: basement edition

About the Publisher

I recently got this game on the steam sales for four dollars this game is another game in the series of games being released by newgrounds which is an online flash hosting site and they have published several HD versions of their better flash games first was Alien Homid which was a side scrolling shooter like metal slug. Next was a game called castle crashers which is a four player side scrolling beat'em up like battletoads or double dragon except it has great RPG element that round out the experience. Then they released Super Meat boy which is a intense platformer with Mario influence this is the hardest platformer and a very well made game finally they have released Binding of Isaac which is rouge; Zelda 1 dungeon  type of game.

Gameplay

Binding of Isaac is a high replayability game with a twisted storyline with the gameplay telling the entire story which is a staple of how well a game can do this it has a random generator for everything in this game which is the main reason for the replayability. There is four RPG elements range, damage, attack speed , movement speed and health there are also numerous number of items that upgrade these elements or give your character a special attack there are too many of these but I can divide into a few groups. First group is bullet manipulators that change your "tears"(I will explain this soon) to different types of attacks usually that enhance your damage, next is food which upgrades your max health there are also items that reduce your max health. Most of the items though manipulate your RPG elements either positively or negatively they also change your cosmetic appearance then there are the items that give you a special power either active ability or passive abilities. Lastly their are pills or tarot cards which do any number of things both good and bad and they change each time you restart the game so do not rely on remembering what stuff does what. In Binding of Isaac there are also bombs and keys so that you can open chests and doors or advance through the area but not essential to win the level. In each level their are 5 different areas plan area with monsters to defeat before you can progress, secret area which gives you a random stuff, game area which has mini games in it either defeat monsters or gambling, 7 deadly sins boss area (just a mini boss), gold item room it is a safe room but contains a power up item in the centre lastly boss room which contains the boss you must defeat to progress to next level these are all randomly generated the difficulty of them depends on what level you are on.

Story

Now to explain how this game's gameplay tells a story as you play first is the how you defeat enemies by crying at them shows that the protagonist is in a unfriendly situation the mini bosses seven deadly sins show that he is destroying his own emotions next is the item that improve him usually cause bodily harm or make him look even more depraved for example his mother's lipstick he places it on his lips and it makes him shoot faster meaning he is crying even more than before and the food that he eats is usually dog food with caption of dinner under it. Each of these things reflect that this child's horrible living standards with as much as a cut scene next is between each level their is a tiny cut scene used to hide loading time but in each ones they show someone either neglecting him or teasing/bullying him now the last peg in the great design of this game is at the end of the intro cut scene you see a naked boy pin a peace of paper to the wall and smile which shows that none of this game is real it is an escape from his even worse life. For such a small game to have such clearly coded stuff is fantastic and I would love triple A games to do the same in their games I know that this is a lot harder to do because they do not have a single man mindset for the entire game.

Summary

I do recommend you get The Binding of Isaac it is fun and addicting game that is both hard and fulfilling a much better game than I expected I have told myself that newgrounds may be a bad site but the polished diamonds from it are great as every full port flash game to product game from them have been fantastic. I have been playing Heroes 6 a lot this will be the next game triple A game I review and if you can help it do not buy Dungeon and Dragons: Daggerdale it is the worst made game ever but u want to review it because it is so bad and it shows how not to make a game and allows me to vent untill next time enjoy this Slice of Kris.

Zelda: Skyward Sword

Zelda : Skyward Sword Review
In this review their will be minor spoilers because this entire game is a gem so if I want to share any of my experiences I will have to spoil some of the game for you, you have been warned that being said I will try my best to give you forewarning. Skyward Sword is meant to be set before the other games but I prefer too look at it as if they are all parallel universes of each other that way the continuity works better and is less confusing your home town is skyloft which is the biggest floating island in this world and you are childhood friends with Zelda who is the headmasters daughter which leads to a different relationship between Zelda and Link. Today is the day of the goddess so you the young skyknights you race for the gods to win the goddess blessing you win and get first item cloth sail which slows you decent so you do not break your ankles then you and Zelda go for a ride together which is your other reward then shit hit the plan you get given a sword and go save the world.

Graphics
Zelda Skyward Sword is the best looking game on the wii not because it is HD or the best textures but the artistic direction is perfect it is a lot more cartoonish then twilight princess but not as much as Zelda Windwaker which made it compensate for the lack of performance and look better than some HD games. Everything is smooth edges and hand drawn which makes the game seem more kid friendly but the difficulty of the game is beyond what a child can do instead I think this game is more made for someone to watch my dad was watching me play and he was enjoying and "helping me play" which with most games I hate people watching me play but this time I felt it was more natural. I believe this was because the storyline is there but the temples and the puzzles were the main goals of the game and he did not need to know the storyline so that everything made sense like other games that constantly spew storyline down your throat. One thing I did not like was when you upgrade some of your items the upgraded item artistically speaking look dreadful but a lot of the time it does make it look better which reminds me why does the technology of Zelda world never advance above bow and arrow when they have robots biggest reason why I started thinking this is (SPOILER)because you get an item then you go back in time temporally and you save robot who says the romote controlled bug robot you have is outdated and he improves it seriously guys(SPOILER END).

GAMEPLAY
This is a Zelda game so you slash your sword at right time dependent on the monster your fighting to kill them with special items to get past it has changed a lot from other Zelda game by making getting to the temple as hard/ full of puzzles as the inside this also makes the inside of the temple a whole lot less confusing compared to earlier Zelda game looking at you water temples (:P by the by had no trouble in water temple in OoT). Also like previous Zelda titles their is a multitude of sidequest to get more heart pieces and new thing called gratitude stars which you get by helping people (spoiler warning) my most favourite side quest would have to be the ghost girl trapped in the toilet very similar to the one in majora's mask and it want paper the only paper you can get though is from a love letter written by one of your classmates who explicitly tells you not to give it to the creepy toilet lady. Of course you go ahead and give it to the hand in the toilet then use the toilet the moment after you do for added comedy but the next day when you tell him he runs away crying then that night the creepy hand is in his room patting his head some how this is worthy of gratitude ohh Japan you so crazy(spoiler End). Gratitude stars can best be compared with the skulltula tokens from previous games except they are more from around town then out in random places now for what you may care more about the controls.
Controls
With the one to one ratio of using wii mote like a sword is so much better than the previous Zelda game where swinging randomly was like spamming the A button to attack this made it so you could still swing rapidly fast but with certain enemies you needed to think about how you attack before you attack otherwise you will get hurt. This has it's own share of problems as I found stabbing action to be really hard to do and when ever it needed to be done to hurt the enemy I could never get it to work the first time this is most probably because I play this game pretty much laying down on the couch other than this the wii motion plus is fantastic. Even more so with the fact you do not even have to face the tv and you can still aim perfectly with the ability to centre the wii mote cursor wherever your pointing this made the controls almost not frustration at times nunchuck is still necessary and has really bad altimeter inside so it would not react when you want it to sometime and other times react when you do not want it to. These small irregularities with the wii mote did not deter my enjoyment of this game if you have a wii get this game if it had a mini sword fighting mini game that you could verse your friend with it would be the perfect game but we can still use the fencing game from wii motion plus sports.

Problems Forewarning
There is one game ending bug in Skyward Sword it did not happen to me because I did not walk off the main quest for the side quests until I mostly beaten the game and had all the items so I could do them all in a row. The bug happens when you talk to a goron who give you a key to progress further and aparantly it the save point get corrupt and game stop if you do this.
The original sequence of events is laid out like this:
1. At the beginning of the quest, go to Lanayru Desert to retrieve the song of the Thunder Dragon.
2. In the Lanayru Mine, speak with Golo the Goron.
3. Complete the Thunder Dragon’s event, and receive his song.
4. Before heading to the forest or volcano regions, speak with Golo in the mine again.
5. At this point, the forest and volcano events will no longer occur, making it impossible to continue.
source from Zeldauniverse.net
If this does happen to you there is a fix done by Nintendo you just have to go on the Internet with your wii to get your save file fixed and a patch to fix this is being released so hopefully this should not effect you.

Endgame
Zelda: Skyward Sword is the best game out one wii if you have a wii gathering dust get this game and re-realise why Nintendo was and is a giant of gaming you will not regret it. New humble bundle is out with some really good games it is worth getting just for Shank and Jamestown but the other games on there are great too  just a little to niche target market till next time peace peps.

Orcs Must Die!

In the lovely daily steam sales I bought Orcs Must Die(OMD) on the soul fact that Machinma constantly said it was good I think they were getting paid I saw screenshots and read about game before I bought it on sale and went there is no way I am buying that when I already have Dungeon Defenders(DD) which is multi-player with better support. Then it came on sale for 75% 5$ down the drain and now I have a one player DD game which leaves me with no option but to compare the two games.

Comic book of Orcs Must Die

Biggest differenced besides one is one player other is multiplayer is that one was developed with the mind set of a full game one maybe two play throughs other was to get the players to keep coming back and enjoy minor tweaks and changes OMD being the former and DD being the later. This lead to both production teams with different mindsets and have differences of updates to the game DD while is constantly tweaking the experience and bring out new content is sometimes poorly done or lacks length/ ingenuity with constant updates over 200mb every other day. OMD is very polished stand alone game with lots of interesting towers, spells and unique combinations of play styles both of which you defend against waves upon waves of minions. The minions in each game are almost identical Orcs, kobolts, ogres, warrior and flying unit Orcs being your basic enemy kobolts being a fast enemy ogres being  tanky enemy warrior targeting you over the thing you are defending flying unit is flying lah. the tower set up in DD is based on placing a wall with turret to defend where as in OMD the enemies walk in a set path and attempt to stop them by killing them before they get to the goal.

In summary if you want TD with HD graphics buy one of these game but if you want a game to play with friends get DD but if you want a game to have some short quick fun bursts of  by yourself then get OMD. You may of noticed some of my new ads I am sorry about that but hey we all need to attempt to make some money somehow :P. Anyway until next time.

SKYRIM

Just WOW umm.. so yer, Skyrim!, I am done, go home... ohh your are home ok then.

Skyrim is the fifth instalment in the Bethesda series the Elder Scrolls not to confused with Scrolls they aptly used the Roman numeral V to show this at least it fit the theme of the game unlike most game series looking at you GTA the theme of which is medieval fantasy. This is the opposite of their other series Fallout which is set in post apocalyptic future and uses numbers to name it's game pretty futuristic am I right enough of paying out the title lets talk about the game. Now where the hell do I start Skyrim boast choice more choice then you could ever want there is choice everywhere in this game to much of it even this has always been the best and worst feature of the this series depending on how you look at it. Even with all this choice only at the start of the game do you really feel like you had a choice though and that choice is what race you want to be a strong Nord or scaly Argonian this choice effect your base skills and your passive ability and race power rest of the game you can do what ever you want as these base effects mean very little as everything in this game levels up at the same rate. The rest of the no matter what you do it feels like you have done nothing for instants in my game I became the archmage of the mages' guild and one of the people I entered the guild with walks up to me and says "your new here too aren't you we should work together". This really annoys me so much as when I become the boss I want people to come up to me and go "hey man I LOVE YOU" as I work hard to be bad ass.

I am a huge dick when it comes to exploiting games as it is just like cheating except it is not by manipulating the source code (incidental a great movie) I decided to be a wood elf archer mage that is right no melee and with sneak being bugged to the point you can shoot an arrow 2 feet away from the enemy and they will say "did you hear something?". When they do eventually find me I just burn them away with hellfire with the skill when you dual cast a spell it knocks them back there is also a skill in archery that does the same thing so I have two knock back abilities depending on how far away my target is this allows me to run away and create some distance to heal and regain mana. Now to compare and contrast some of Bethesda's other products to Skyrim and how the improved or devolved the franchise the most notable change between Skyrim and Oblivion is the writing and the voice acting has drastically improved making it a more engaging experience. Only change I dislike is the fact that when ever I walk near a npc that no longer has even one answer dialogue box will spout their lifestory to me when ever I go near them for instance a sea captain constantly says "they call me captain because I used to be the captain for the east trading company so now they call me the captain anyway even though I retired."

There are some bugs in the game that may get fixed on patch coming out on the 31/11/2011 in Australia 30/11/2011 in america these bugs include when you try to fast travel Skyrim crashes and you return to desktop without so much of a warning. Lastly is when you try to sell item it sometime exit's the sell window for no reason this also happen sometime when you read a book you cannot select another item by the use of a mouse you have to instead exit then re-enter these are the two most annoying bugs there are some others but they are more funny than annoying like dead companions falling from the sky at your wedding. Speaking of weddings there are many optional side-missions in each town from getting married to hunting down a serial killer which is just a most interesting find do not tell the media they will flip out :P.

Now for what people care about the most the gameplay This game can be played in wither 3rd person or 1st person depending on your preference and can easily be switched between the two the combat system is a lot more diverse than it's predecessor with the use of dual wielding one handed weapons and spell it would be nice though if you could combine spells together for new spells like a fire ice ball but i can understand why this has not happened as they are polar opposites. Depending on what you are using the skill will be leveled up allowing the player to train strongly in one skill set or even evenly train all his skills both work just as well from what I have been told from my friends they tend to drift towards dual one hand weapons and spells. They also mostly removed the seven statistics to stamina, health and magicka each of these are just as important as each other for how ever you want to play except magicka as if you want to not use spells you can just not improve this. Stamina improves the amount to capacity you have and the amount you can run or use power attacks, Health is self explanatory increases your maximum health and regeneration outside of battle, Magicka like health increase maximum amount and regeneration both in and outside of battle. Also when you level up you gain a skill point that can be used in your skill trees except they need to have the correct skill level in that tree and the proceeding point before it these points upgrade yourself in the use of that skill and give bonus passive abilities. Lastly their is the headlining feature of this game the fact that you are dragon born which means you can speak the dragon language which results in giving you the ability to shout to either improve yourself or effect your surroundings. To gain these abilities you have to first gain dragon souls by killing dragons and stealing their souls then you have to learn the dragon word on walls all through Skyrim then you use the dragon souls you have collected to unlock the dragon shout or improve it then SHOUT at the world as you are DRAGONBORN.

That about covers the gameplay there is also smithing and enchanting of items to improve stats but they are a little complicated to explain in a review already way over limit they are also great for speed levelling if you have the money to spend on iron bars and leather straps. Now to talk about something else how does that sound, sound you say ok I will talk about that Skyrim has a great original score with the coding to back it up so that it plays the correct music in the correct spots. For example when you’re about to fight a group of enemies or a dragon it picks up to enhance the mood to fit what you’re feeling or when your sneaking around there is only the sound of your footsteps ringing in your ears and the creaking of the wood under the heel of your iron boots. The score also nicely melds to just exploring the land to a seeing an idol or a new town. Which brings me to the engine the new graphic’s engine of Skyrim has fantastic lighting and smoke effects in only downfall is like most MMORPG’s they have to reuse the same textures a lot to flesh out the entire world which makes it look disjointed in some places even though everything has been placed by hand and none have been randomly generated like in previous Elder Scroll games. There are plenty of mods out their which are fan made textures to make places look less disjointed and more natural these are only done with replacing files at the moment once the mod tools come out expect a lot more retexturing and even new area’s to explore which is one of the best things about Bethesda’s games they have a great mod community.

There are many reasons to enjoy this game but it is an extremely involving RPG so it will suck a minimum of 40 hours of your life be prepared for this when you get it, also there is no multiplayer as much as it would be nice to have a co-op partner in some dungeons or quests except that multiplayer can easily ruin the experience of this game as you are very much the strongest person in this world and having two of you would imbalance the game. If you are looking for a fantasy game with great co-op I would suggest Lord of the Rings: War in the North the gameplay in that game is much like Balders gate games like Dark alliance. Also spoiler and forewarning there are some very controversial things in Skyrim that I am ashamed to have in it one being a serial killer’s house with severed heads on bodies lying around the other is once you beat the Dark Brotherhood missions you can train your skills on living torture victims chained up in the dungeons torture in games is the one thing I cannot stand I hate any games that force this on a player as they do effect people and you should not be forced to participate. I did not like this being in amnesia and I hate it being in Skyrim but at least you’re not forced to do this. Until next time I hope you do not get killed by the Dark Brotherhood, also I forgot to mention people hold grudges in this game and will send people after you to kill you this is a nice feature PEACE. Got skyward Sword played a little bit of it already miss the sweet sweet Skyrim graphics HD to SD never a nice change sword play is great far to much talking at start like usual in Zelda games but looking forward to it expect a lot  of Skyrim screenshots to come very soon I have heaps of them will make a post full or them.

Limbo (cause of steam sale)

If you have not played or purchased Limbo it was on sale on steam on 27/11/2011 so get it if you can if not just watch a lets play of it you will understand it and feel same satisfaction of playing it.

Limbo is a game by independent developer Playdead I think they are French if I can remember correctly now before I played this game I had heard that it was an interesting take on a platformer style game and was meant to be hard and frustrating at some points. This did not happen to me only thing that frustrated me was occasionally  the controls would be annoying like he would do a 2 jumps instead of one big one or vice versa other than that I beat they game very fast and without little hiccups.

Now on to the good stuff although it was a short game it was compelling and made me want to keep playing from luring a spider onto a trap to deceiving kids to traps without as much as the kid looking back just kept heading right, RIGHT TO THE END. How I solved every puzzle was deliberately do the wrong thing to understand how the trap works then on next life do it so you do not die only on a few of the puzzles I died more than once and on those ones it was because it required timing which has never been my strong suit which I why I suck at all Mario games even the easy ones. The sound in the game correctly matches what is happening in the environment the control even though annoying still work perfectly with simple button to use button to jump and left and right. The artistic theme of using black and white with some shades of Gray this hides some of the trap to get a cheep jump and to make sure you keep an eye on your surroundings without needing a bright YELLOW dodge this or go here hint system.

There are three sections to each area first is the explore and puzzle solving next is the escape the area requiring you to be constantly moving and being extremely aware of your surrounding then finally killing something that is trying to stop your progress or your boss fight. Although you can only notice this if your paying attention and constantly review the game as you play like I do or notice it in hindsight like most people most do, and yes this is the same thing all games do it is also the same in movies it is called the three part system in it's base form it is setting, problem and solution they usually then follow it up with a small resolution but not everything has this.

I do recommend you play this game if you want something different from just blindly shooting guys or stabbing people or bashing in zombie brains but if you have the extra 15$ get portal 2 much better puzzle game but it has more humour in it and PORTALS and LASORS what more could you want a jet-pack well to bad!.

DC Universe Online (free edition)

As you should know by now DC Universe came out around this time last year as a MMO for the consoles and demonstrates the three reasons why MMORPG should never be made on consoles I will get to this soon but for now lets get some reasons why to get into this game. DC Universe is much like it's predecessor City of Heroes a MMORPG with super heroes and villains fighting each other with a greater evil looming in the background except it has been given a franchise so they do not have to set up a background and lore for why we should care about the story of your and the characters in the game. Which is a big reason why a lot of the other MMORPG's failed because we had to learn the storyline while getting used to the gameplay and the story going on at the moment but because the viewer has prior knowledge of the series they can more easily make their character fit to the setting and pick up the story of the world. Now quickly I will name some of the more popular MMORPG's of the past five years World of Warcraft (of course), Lord of the Ring online (also free to play expect you caped a lot for being non premium), Starwars Onine (very old cannot remember the actual name), Everquest 2, Tibia and Maple story out of all these you can quickly pick up that you know some of the background of the games except Tibia, Maple story and maybe Everquest this goes to show that people tend to play the game they know the story and lore over something they have never heard of like lets just say Rift.

After that long sidetrack I shall explain my first 10 levels of the game in less than 10 minute I hit my first road block MMORPG's without CDs take for ever to download a whopping 18 Gb so 8 hours latter I was ready to go and hit the second roadblock to an Australian gamer only servers available are Eu or US I mean come on guys we level directly between the two of you give us a server and they give you the stupid option of PvP or non-PvP what a waste of bandwidth to split a server just so pansies can not worried about getting killed by random's during their quest and still not give us a server. Now I am finally in character customisation which I felt was a huge amount of choice you pick your ability background like use of ice fire magic and gadgets then you pick what weapons you want you character to use from hand blasts to pole-arms to dual pistol's. Next you have your choice of metor for the side of heroes Superman, Wonder Woman or batman and for the villain's you have Lex Luthor, The Red Circle or the Joker (you got me I have no idea who this Red Circle is something to do with Wonder Woman) as well as your ability move about acrobatic's like Batman Flying like superman or Super speed of the Flash. After all these tough choices you come to everyone's favourite thing character creation that is right you get to pick what your superhero or villain looks like from cape to boots they have a lot of customisation to make you look like a superstar!.

ME stuck in the ground shows the UI though! and some costumes of my in the ground friends

Now for a quick story setting Lex has killed superman in the not to distant future in the hugest fight between villains and heroes as soon as the battle is over if superman dead Brainiac (The reason for superman's home planet's destruction) comes over and conquers the planet after many years of oppression future Lex invents time travel and warns the justice league of what is going to happen. Lex then release Brainiac's nanobots into the Earth's atmosphere which has all of the powers from meta humans that Brainiac has harvested over the past years and the future that then infect normal humans giving them superpowers and that means you!. Here is a link to the trailer which pretty much is what I have just said above expect cooler with good CGI graphicshttp://www.g4tv.com/videos/47678/dc-universe-online-cinematic-trailer/. You wake up in a large open room of what seems to be a spaceship a stranger's voice contacts you saying ohh you have woken up what I have must of worked they then tell you that you are on a Brainiac invasion ship and you have to escape by using your powers taking out your guard the stranger introduces him/herself. Make a long tutorial short you learn the basics adding skill points, how to use your movement trait and how to fight you break out and destroy the ship with the aid of a more experienced player namely Lex or Superman.

The Game has a large storyline dependant on who you chose as your mentor and which faction your on much like WoW with it's different races and horde or alliance Factions but I decided to use my two available character on a Superman mentor as a magic hand-blasting metahuman that can fly and a twisted nature controlling dual pistol weilding psychopath under the mentor Joker both were incredibly fun to play. When you beat a raid/campaign fight the person you beat give you their stake in the world on my hero route which was Gorilla Grodd and Hive Queen they explained what they want to have as their ideal future when you beat them. After beating these chumps I was invited onto the Justice League space station which is like the huge cities from WoW they then told me to go to other cities from the giant world to tackle stronger enemies and help other heroes.

In my entire experience I have found two annoying things one being not enough ability to set macro as you want in a MMORPG the other was a random bug where I Logged in and was stuck in the ground randomly which made me have to delete my character and start again the other just made me feel like I was Pigeon toed into playing a console game on the computer problem number one of console MMORPG number two is the graphic control in the game there are very limited things you can change for your computers performance it also does not save your setting after you change them after you quit (maybe this was just my computer being stupid). Number 3 general control of you character feels slightly off not saying that it is hard to play or is anyway stupid just did not especially feel 100% like having right click be ranged and left click be melee which just always makes me feel like left and right trigger from a controller at least it is not as bad as Assassin Creed on computer now that is the most annoying control system for a computer ever.

Sorry about the length maybe you like longer and more comprehensive reviews as compared to my whole part review strategy where I break up the review of a game into three parts depending on the theme of the post I am sure I will eventually go into the standard of the industry Gameplay, Story and Multi-player segregated reviews till next time and if you cannot wait for Skyrim that comes out in 24 hours! or just want a free fun well paced MMORPG with very little trouble learning how to play and have fun with it's simplistic UI and gameplay give it a shot.

Battlefield 3 The Guns part 2

The most important thing in modern fps is not gameplay or graphic it is the guns from ironsights to recoil they are the linchpin that holds the entire game together. In some games the guns are completely over the top and ridiculous but because they are they set the tone of the entire game for instance the arsenal in the Unreal franchise each having a unique feel with an incredible destructive force. The guns in Battlefield 3 do set the tone for the game with intense eye for detail biggest example when you use all the bullets in the clip and the one and the chamber before you can fire again you have manually place one in the chamber by cocking it.

The diversity of guns in battlefield is astonishing with over 50 guns to unlock from sidearm's to rpg's each with it's own range damage and effectiveness in certain environments some of these include shotgun for close quarters/indoor environments or the smg for short burst with low accuracy short to mid ranged gun fights. To add to this each weapon has an abundance of attachments to unlock from sights to extra handling with stocks depending on your needs you can even add a flashlights to blind you enemy or a laser sight so you can aim easier from the hip. Now lastly the thing you all care about the most is guns attached to vehicles this is the hardest to do as you want to have it so that a player in a vehicle can feel protected but also so that those not in vehicle do not feel completely hopeless to stop it's onslaught. They have achieved this fairly well by creating other vehicles that can counter other vehicles not force people to rely on the trusty rpg team first their is the mobile anti-air tank that can position itself on a hill out of the range of enemy tanks and rpg team to take out the pesky helicopters and aeroplanes.

This is a nice short post this time it was specific about guns though was not a lot I could talk about I could go into detail on how each gun works but even if I did I do not think  I could correctly state on the accuracy of how each gun feels compared to it's real life counter part as I have never held a gun let alone fired one enough to understand how this gun works and how it compares to this video game. Until next time do not come knocking if the boat is rocking you know what I mean!.

Batman Arkham City part 1 as the dust settles.

Forewarning
Batman Arkham city is made by rocksteady games and is the sequal to the 2009 smash hit Batman Arkham Asylum. I recommend playing Batman Arkham Asylum before you play Arkham City as the plot assumes you have played it and it does not give the greatest tutorial on how to play the game. This is a major flaw of the game as it prohibits new players from being able to simple pick this game up and play it with the same enjoyment of fans of the series. Myself I have not played Arkham asylum since I beat it and the challenge maps I did not even come back when more dlc challenge maps came out as they were essentially the same fight in a different locations so without a tutorial it took me a while to get back to the feel of the game.

Setting
Much like the previous Batman title there is a a world to explore and learn about but unlike the previous game it is easy to get lost while gliding as bat around the city controlled by various factions even more so when you weaken or take out one the bosses the various factions take over that area. The riddle trophies are more mini puzzles or mini-games while also being spread among the entire city making collecting every single one seem more of a hassle over being a reward for exploring as you need to backtrack a lot because you do not have the gadget to get the trophy in the first place. The scan for clues are back but they are not explained at all in the game which pisses me off a lot as I have forgotten almost everything about the game.

I sure am lazy to not post my screenshot

Gameplay
The movement in this game in combat is incredibly fluid in most cases as you watch Batman jump from guy to guy like a pogo stick but gliding and running around does not always do what you want it to or even expect it to as the game does not allow Batman and Catwoman to climb or jump over every single object or grapnel to all ledges. Speaking of Catwoman she has her own side storyline missions not as much as the big bad Bat but has enough attention to enjoy climbing up a wall like a cat to a tree or whipping to a building further away than the whip should be able to hit as well as her personalised fight style and items to flesh out the individuality of the character. You can also play Robin, Catwoman, various Batman skins and Nightwing in the upcoming dlc in the challenge missions which I have yet to play or see but I will you be rest assured.

Graphics
Using the unreal engine like the previous batman makes it have a nice gritty vibe with nice aesthetics as you fly from turf to turf. As the game progresses the entire city changes depending on who the main villain is your chasing at the time including Batman's costume with new gear and as it gets ripped. These things create as sense as if what you do correctly effects the game world unlike other sandbox games where the game world does not change and you feel as if your actions do not mean anything.

Summary
As I am playing this game on the ps3 as it is much more enjoyable to play a 3rd person camera game on a dual analog sticks over a mouse and keyboard so I cannot post screenshot but I have gotten some from various websites on the Internet! Also do not forget to check out my other reviews (they are a lot better than this one as it was one of my first reviews) and to click on the ads to support me doing this as a hobby.

Dungeon Defenders updates updates UPDATES!

It has been a long time since the release of Dungeon Defender since then 3 things have changed and one thing still needs to be changed.

First they have nurfed the squire a lot to bring him down to the other characters levels but even this is still not enough when the other characters have to watch out for immunity of creeps where as squire can take on them all with any turret. Next they buff the apprentices turrets have increased damage over the board while increasing the life of monk's offensive auras so they do not need to be constantly repaired. The archer has not been improved and is still the hardest character to use except her second spell is very good at clearing enemies in a long row.

Halloween in dungeon defenders

A wild pirate scouts the field ready to strike

short quick expect more improvements in this game and unless your going for speed levelling do not play the Halloween event match it is so damned long to beat 1 and half hours never again and you only get special skins if you beat it on hard, till next time.

Dungeon Defenders initiation part 1

For those of you who do not know the game Dungeon Defenders do not fear I will tell you about it, first thing you need to know is this games was made with the same mind set as magicka  to be played with friends so if you are going to play this game get some friends to get it with you.

Dungeon Defenders is a 4 player co-op tower defence with RPG elements there are 4 starter classes do not believe the difficulty levels they have as they are all wrong but before explaining that let me tell you the 4 starter classes. First is the apprentice who focus's is in building towers and pushing creeps away, next is the squire who specialises in defensive and knock back weapons, 3rd in the series is the ranger who focus is on traps and powerful ranged attacks, lastly there is the monk who's focus is in support or offensive auras. The game lists them from least difficult to most difficult as follows apprentice, squire, ranger, monk this is clearly not the case as the easiest is in fact the squire and the hardest is the apprentice at least they got the ranger in the correct spot it is the third hardest and the monk is the second easiest.

Now I am sorry I cannot explain any gameplay to you yet and that I have no coooooooool screenshots i will update this post with COOOOOOLL!!!! screenshots until then bare your teeth till the next slice of kris which will have gameplay detail reviews of each character preorder awesomeness!! and other fancy things.

RAGEING ABOUT RAGE! 4

I know it has been awhile but this is the last post I am going to make about this game raping up the second half of the game.

The resistance!

 Mutant do fun jumps

Nice lighting before a some what epic fight

Reasons why I have not posted this is because I felt I have not played enough to give this review credit and also I have been reading, watching and hearing about reviews what depressed me some of the reviews neglected to see the effort that ID have put into their first game on their new engine. Where they have given up on being an independent game engine making company where they pioneered the first person shooter genre and the games were made just to promote the engine to be sold to other game company's to use. This made the games made by them storyline and gameplay wise quite dull and repetitive which stagnated the their first person shooter genre leading to ID's fall from prominence in the FPS world. The ID engines allowed games like the CoD series to start off. So for the first time in ages RAGE allows ID to to create a game with story, gameplay and mechanics so when people do not play this game out with fully giving it a open mind.

Experimented mutant

Now with the review proportion this review ahh good fun on getting sidetracked easily. The story has shown more about the reasons why we need to fight with the resistance against the authority the faceless evil entity which turns out the leader has been setting his Arc pod people to leave their pod's earlier than the other arc people so that they can conquer the world before they are released which lead to the story going on right now. They also then captured all the other arc survivor who are not with them and possibly killed them or converted them they also created the mutants to create fear on the survivors which means that the mutants were not spawned because of the meteorite hitting the Earth to keep them in fear so they can control them.

Cruelty of humans in this ravaged world

Will now sidetrack again BECAUSE I CAN a lot of game reviewers companied that their were two compulsory races when driving is one of the main gimmicks and mechanics of the game and was not at all hard when you play the optional races so you can get racing certificates to upgrade your car. Which leads to my next point money is completely pointless as you never run out if you pick up items and sell them even then you do not need to as I tend to have an over abundance of money anyway. Now I have been told that this game is a first person shooter action rpg but the only rpg element this game has is that the character you play has no voice when he should so that you can personify your identity on to him but as you have not a lot of options when you go into levels you can only kill people you cannot go stealthy or avoid confrontation. Compare this to elder scrolls where you can have any type of role playing game you want to from passive wander to outlaw so i reject the notion that this a rpg but is just an fps with an in depth plot.

My boomstick likes this scenery

I have now rapped this review up i hope this last review has been slightly more engaging than usual till next time slice of kris followers.

Yes this brown shooter has some green

p.s When I play this game I made the protagonist has duke Nukem's voice
