Easter Civilization

So on break from university for a week so I decided to talk about the game I am currently playing which is Civilization 4 I know it is not 5 the latest in the series but I did not want to spend 80$ when this was a nice low price of  5$ in a throw out bin. Civilization 5$ is the same as the rest of the series as you are new nation just learning how walk, and you have been put in charge of  your nation and it is up to you guide your people into prosperity and to come out as the leader of the Earth. If I was asked to describe what this game was most like I would say risk the board game except you go through all the ages of man from cave to present dayish more like late 1990's.

I used to play Civ 2 when I was a kid and enjoyed the shaping my people to power and become the undisputed ruler of earth then I sort of forgot about it till Civ 5 was coming out and want to play another Civ game so I got number 4 and found that very little things have changed and the things that have change did were largely unnoticed until after hours of playing. Which disappoints me as all they did was change from a lovely low resolution squares which pictures of my troops moving to slightly 3D troops moving about with the tech tree and troops all being exactly the same. With a series as old as this one with more than one year between each iteration of the series you would think they would be able to re imagine some of the mechanics besides instead of your settlement being one square it grows with how big your settlement gets which was about the only change I could notice of actual significance to the gameplay.

As I do not not own Civ 5 I cannot say if the mechanics have change anything from number 1 or even if the graphics are worth the re-imagining from civ 2 days but if you have an inkling to be the ruler of the world, look in throw out bins you might just find Civ 5 for 5$. If you do buy it and you will not be unhappy with rounds easily lasting over 8 hours of gameplay and loads of re-playability but do not be waiting on the edge of your seat for a Civilization 6 as I guarantee you that it will just be the same as  Civilization 1 with shinier graphics at heart but hey do not fix what ain't broke.
