Guild Wars 2

I did not play the original Guild Wars so fuck the story but apparently this is all about the story honestly I was into it for the first part of the game where it I got to choice on what story I wanted slightly then after I was told to drop my team and join one of the 3 big guilds where all my previous choices meant nothing. By the way I am reviewing Guild wars 2 in case you could not guess which the new game in the famous series Guild wars which was noted for being one of the best competing competitors when WoW originally came out boasting the same game without the monthly price tag. I played very little of Guild Wars all of it was at a friends house showing me how "cool" it was to my fourteen year old brain it certainly looked similar to WoW but for all I knew it could of been horse shit in comparison. Now many many year with WoW circling the drain and Project Titan peaking around the corner Guild War 2 comes with a very new and unique MMORPG formula all based around we are all friends here.

Guild Wars 2 unique formula is very very simple every single human player is your friend which honestly made the game so easy to pick up and enjoy as you do not mind that player kill stealing you because it honestly makes no difference or that random level 80 in your level 12 town killing all the quest giving npcs these are but things of the past. They explained this in the story from what I can understand that all the races have formed a very flimsy alliance so that they are all buddies this lead to people who disagree with theses alliances and broke away from their race to form their own factions these are the people you mainly face in the  first half of the game before the cool story came with dragons. Then the dragons returned from space yes they implied heavily they came from space (they didn't well I am changing the lore so they do) from what I can understand there are several elder dragons who can spawn the dead and hate the living because they are not dead and they for some reason hate my necromancer. Next Guild Wars 2 went after having to talk to people to even get the quests because who cares why farmer noddy wants the fire flys away from his cows and just do it this was my favourite thing about the game because when I first played WoW I had so many quest that I was confused on which one I should be doing first and where I was even meant to be going this way I can just go about my business exploring and always having a quest to do right next to me.

Fear not there is PVP I mean where would any good online game be without the good sport of bashing ones head in with a mace this comes in two forms battle arena or Siege server wars, both pit teams against each other battling for capture points. Your basic PVP arena is your usual team verse team for the capture points except they instant put you at max level and same weapons so you do not have to wait until the end of the game to play and everyone is equal, although high level people do have a slight advantage as armour is yours and you have your trait points for bonuses. Next is the Siege server wars not it's real name but it is a much better one lots of the people play it call it Wv3 but it is called World vs World, where your server goes head to head with two other servers in both defence, offence and free for all Wv3 is named because it is world vs world vs world instead they decided to called it World vs power of 3 because there are three world dukeing it out(enough with explanation of the name get to what it really is). The reason why I called it Siege server wars is because your put in map with several fortresses, towns and castles which leads to a lot of sieges breach the home team's castle or the other invading teams fortresses the towns supplies resources which are used to make siege weapons or upgrade your fortress/castle these have little to no defence leading them to be captured often and very fast. The main strategy is what they like to call Zerging where a huge group forms and they just go from point to point to point this is boring and can be stopped simply by a well fortified base and alerting your team of the location of the Zerg mob I hope real war strategy gets involved and new better wars begin.

Overall the ability to easily play this game and have fun is the major selling point not the no monthly price tag it suffers from this by having a very free to play gimmick to it called gems to unlock various stuff which just make life easier but not necessaries for the enjoyment of the game. The drop in and out PVP is nice but ripe with unseasoned noobs souring the pool of players but definitely a game you should pay for if your tired of the old quest system port from mmo to mmo but lacks the polish necessary for it to be a great game as of October 1st it has more bugs than you can shake a stick at until next time.
